Design Notes

As one of the most important synthetic biology components in transcriptional regulation, promoters play an irreplaceable role in metabolic engineering. For the industrial microorganism Corynebacterium glutamicum, the construction of a promoter with a strong promoter is essential for the production of the target product lycopene.The Ptac promoter is a hybrid promoter constructed from the tryptophan promoter and the lacUV5 promoter, which can be repressed by the lac repressor and induced by IPTG. Ptac is now widely used for protein expression of glutamine and synthesis of valuable chemicals.

The Ptac promoter is a composite blend of a promoter derived from the tryptophan manipulator and a promoter from the Lac manipulator lineage.
